Carlotta Zea
Carlotta was born in Rome, Italy. However, she feels she is a citizen of the world.
Interested in various art forms from a young age, she did not initially pursue a career in filmmaking. She was actively involved in professional dance with choreographer Glauco Gaia in Rome starting when she was 6. Awarded an internship with Oscar de la Renta, she worked in his NYC studio when she was 18. She graduated with a master’s degree from Università la Sapienza di Roma and École d’Architecture La Villette in Paris. A licensed architect, her work has allowed her to live in different parts of the globe. Exposed to different cultural situations, she integrated with local communities to learn and evolve. She knew filmmaking would synthesize her passions. She moved to Los Angeles to study writing and directing at UCLA.
She wants to create intelligent female characters as role models for future generations.
